Every great RV story starts with a great truck — and for us, that truck is Double D, our 2024 Black GMC Denali Dually.
We actually bought Double D a full year before we purchased our Grand Design Influence fifth wheel. It might sound a little backwards, but we knew exactly what we wanted: a truck that could handle anything we decided to tow. Instead of limiting our RV options by weight, we decided to start from the top — buy the truck first and never have to think twice about capacity.

Once we finally decided on our Grand Design Influence, the next big step was getting Double D ready to tow. We went with a B&W Companion Hitch, one of the most trusted names in the towing world, and sourced it through eTrailer.
Justin handled the entire installation himself — and yes, it’s as heavy-duty as it looks. The setup is clean, solid, and fits perfectly with the Denali’s factory puck system. It’s the kind of upgrade that makes towing not just easier, but safer and smoother.
A Year Later
After a year with Double D, we couldn’t be happier. It’s more than just a tow vehicle — it’s part of the adventure. From late-night drives home to future road trips across the country, this truck has already proven it’s built for the long haul.
